What are dermal fillers?
Dermal fillers are injectable cosmetic gels that add temporary hydration and volume to your skin. Targeted injections smooth wrinkles and fine lines, fill in lost volume, and enhance the proportion of certain features.
Juvederm®, Restylane® and RHA® products contain a form of hyaluronic acid, a natural substance your body produces a lot of in your youth. As you age, your production of this compound slows, contributing to the development of lines, wrinkles, and hollowing features.
Hyaluronic acid adds moisture to your tissues and binds cells together to provide skin resilience. Restylane and Juvederm restore your levels of hyaluronic acid, so your features look more like they did in your youth.
What facial concerns can dermal fillers treat?
Talk to your provider at Xthetics Med Spa about using dermal fillers to help refine:
- Under eye circles
- Thin lips and lip lines
- Low cheekbones or hollowed cheeks
- Nasolabial folds
- Indented scars
- Bony-looking hands
Dermal fillers naturally and subtly improve your appearance. Your friends, colleagues, and family may notice you look younger and refreshed but won’t know you had work done.
How soon will I see the results of dermal fillers?
The impact of dermal fillers is noticeable immediately. The fillers take about four weeks to settle into your tissues fully. This is when you’ll notice your peak results.
How long do the results from dermal fillers last?
How long your dermal fillers last depends on several factors, including the formula used, your body’s personal response, and the area treated. Generally, dermal fillers produce results for 6-18 months, after which you can get retreatments to maintain your look.
Do I need to schedule downtime after dermal filler injections?
You don’t need to schedule downtime following dermal filler injections, but your provider recommends you follow some basic steps to optimize your results. This includes cleansing treatment areas gently to allow the fillers to settle and diffuse properly.
Avoid facials, lasers, and facial waxing for two weeks after the injection. For about two weeks, you’ll also want to stay out of extremely hot temperatures, including saunas, steam rooms, and heated yoga studios.
Refrain from high-impact exercise for about 24 hours to allow the fillers to settle.
